Man Accused Of Growing Pot In Garden Pleads Guilty
CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) ―
A Fremont County man is scheduled to learn his sentence next week after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Larry A. Lovato had been accused of growing approximately $60,000 worth of marijuana plants in a backyard garden. He was initially charged with felony cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana, retaliation against a witness, and unlawful possession and use of methamphetamine.
The 48-year-old Lovato entered his plea to the misdemeanor marijuana possession charge Wednesday in Fremont County District Court. Prosecutors dropped the other charges.
Sentencing is set for Oct. 15.
