Mail Thieves Target Foothills Addresses
LYONS, Colo. (CBS4) ―
Investigators say thieves are opening and going through holiday mail in the foothills near Lyons.
At least 35 victims have reported the problem this week in the area around Lyons and Allenspark.
The mail was taken and opened and then tossed.
The post office is reminiding victims to notify their bank if their mailbox has been hacked.
The criminals may be looking for gift cards or possibly credit cards.
Anyone who finds possibly stolen mail on the road or elsewhere is asked to return the mail to either the Lyons or Allenspark post offices.
