SUV In Fatal Longmont Crash Was Full Of Beer Cans

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) ― Police said they think alcohol is the likely cause of a crash in Longmont Friday morning that killed two men and left another hurt.

The incident happened just after 6 a.m. at 17th Avenue and Ute Creek Drive. A Ford Explorer lost lost control, crossed the center median and hit another car head on.

Two two men in the SUV, who have not been identified, were killed. The driver of the other car was hospitalized with serious injuries and his 8-year-old son was unharmed.

Longmont police said the SUV had beer cans scattered across the floor. Officials were expected to do a toxicology report in connection with the crash.
