Historic Hot Dog Stand Makes Successful Move

BAILEY, Colo. (CBS4) ― The owners of a Colorado cultural icon are glad to have that icon in place in its new home after a challenging journey, CBS4 reports.

Workers rigged wires to the Coney Island hot dog stand in Aspen Park on Saturday as people watched. The stand may weigh 14 tons, but it's fragile, and there was some cracking in the moving process that complicated things.

The stand had been in Aspen Park since 1970.

After some goodbyes, the wide load took to the highway. There was a big hand for the big dog as it arrived in Bailey.

The new owners plan to have the stand open again in early June.
