Museum Residences Offer Best 'DAM' View
by Paul Day
DENVER (CBS4) ―
The best 'Dam' views in Denver were selling quick as a new condo project was being built next to the newly remodeled Denver Museum of Art (DAM). The same big name architect who designed the addition to the museum also designed the condo building next door.
Bill and Helen Taylor are two of the people who planned to move into the new Museum Residences. They're trading down from their 3,100 square foot home near Genesee for a 1,300 square foot condo in the middle of the city.
"We're going to be so active in a different way," Helen Taylor said.
The couple is going to pay $650,000 to live downtown after living in the foothills for 25 years. They're not alone. Eighty percent of the units were already sold.
The Taylors said the fact that a famous architect designed their new home makes it a better investment.
The new condos at the Museum Residences will be ready for occupancy in July. The new addition to the Denver Art Museum is scheduled to open in October.
