Teen Recovers After Getting Bit By Rattlesnake
LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A teenager is recovering from a rattlesnake bite she got while hiking with her friend.
The snake bit her Saturday evening in a field near North Ranch Road in Littleton.
The 16-year-old was wearing sandals while hiking when she was bitten on the ankle. She was rushed to Littleton Adventist Hospital, the facility with the largest supply of anti-venom in the metro area.
West metro officials said trails all along the hogback and green mountain are in a rattlesnake zone.
Hikers should wear appropriate clothing while hiking, including hiking boots and long pants.
