NIWOT, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A mother and her infant have been hospitalized after a high speed crash on Wednesday in Boulder County.
A suspect driving a pickup truck who was being chased by law enforcement caused the crash near Niwot, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Longmont police began the chase, but then Boulder County and the State Patrol continued the pursuit, which ended in the four-car crash at 95th Street and Niwot Road.
The suspect's truck hit a BMW head-on, which caused the suspect to go airborn and crash into a Trailblazer with a mother and child inside. The truck then bounced off of the Trailblazer and hit a Jeep.
The mother and child were the only ones who were injured. The mother is in serious condition while the child suffered only minor injuries.
The suspect is in jail facing several felony charges.
State Patrol is not releasing the identity of the suspect but said Longmont police had been pursuing him on charges not related to the chase.
