A man accused of causing an accident that killed three people from the Denver area will go on trial Wednesday morning.
Francis Hernandez faces 17 different charges, including three vehicular homicide charges for an accident that happened in September of 2008.
Police say that Hernandez was traveling more than 70 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone when he ran a red light, hitting a pickup truck. The pickup then crashed into a Baskin Robbins near the intersection of Havana and Mississippi, killing a 3-year-old boy. The two women in the pickup truck also died.
A jury was picked after three days of selection. The judge says he expects the trial to last about two weeks.
