Police: Woman Who Caused Deadly Crash From Calif.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) ― The woman who police say caused a deadly head-on crash in Grand Junction is being identified as a California resident.

Police say Kathryn Ann Disparti, 48 of Napa, Calif., was driving the wrong way on Interstate 70 in her van when she slammed into a car, killing its driver and injuring a 5-month-old boy.

Disparti died a few hours later.

The Mesa County Coroner's Office says Disparti's death was the result of multiple blunt-force injuries. The other driver, 26-year-old Jenny Steele-Trover, also suffered multiple injuries and died at the scene.

Her son, 5-month-old Alexander Jacob Everett Steele, was the sole survivor.

He had been listed in fair condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, but was airlifted to The Children's Hospital in Aurora on Thursday.
