Frontier Sends Layoff Notices To Some Employees

DENVER (CBS4) ―

Frontier Airlines is beginning to notify some employees that they are being laid off.

The Denver-based airline has started to send out letters informing workers that their jobs are being eliminated.

Frontier says the layoffs are part of reductions in the workforce announced last week, but cannot say how many employees will lose their jobs. The airline has about 6,000 employees.

The company filed for bankruptcy protection in April.

Last month the airline announced plans to trim capacity, planes and jobs as it deals with a slumping economy and rising fuel costs.
