5 More Coloradans Test Positive For Swine Flu

DENVER (AP) ― The Colorado Department of Public Health reports five more Coloradans have tested positive for swine flu, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the state to 48.

The department said Tuesday confirmed cases are limited to Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, Eagle, Fremont, Garfield, Jefferson, La Plata and Morgan counties.

So far, only five of the 48 victims have been hospitalized. All but four of those who tested positive are under the age of 40.

Swine flu cases in Colorado have prompted a flurry of calls to insurers about whether infected employees can apply for workers' compensation.

A spokeswoman for the state's largest provider of workers' compensation coverage said Monday employees would have to prove they were exposed to swine flu while on the job.
