Son Suspected In Orthopedic Surgeon's Murder

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) ― A prominent surgeon has been found stabbed to death at his Colorado Springs home, apparently at the hands of his own son.

Police say Dr. Edward Fitzgerald, 63, was killed Thursday in a clash with his son Sean, 36. The younger Fitzgerald has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

No motive has been released.

The victim was an orthopedic surgeon who once led the El Paso County Medical Society. An autopsy is pending.
