Aurora Man Drowned While Fishing
BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A man from Aurora drowned in the Barker Reservoir Thursday afternoon while trying to retrieve his fishing pole.
Emergency personnel said four friends were fishing on the north side of the reservoir near Nederland at about noon, when the 22-year-old man went into the water after he dropped his fishing pole.
The victim began showing signs of distress and his friends attempted to assist him. Emergeny personnel said the man went under before his friends could reach him.
One of the divers from the Boulder Emergency Squad dive team found the man's body about 30 minutes after he was last seen by his friends.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
