Fire Burns Home In Coal Creek Canyon

COAL CREEK, Colo. (CBS4) ― Firefighters battled a blaze at a home in the foothills of Coal Creek Canyon Friday morning. The flames spread to the surrounding land and trees.

Authorities said the first call on the fire at 11678 Ranch Elsie Road came in at about 5:30 a.m.

Firefighters from Boulder County, Coal Creek Fire and Arvada responded.

Neighbors called authorities about the fire and said no one was home at the time.

It wasn't clear how much of the land had burned. Firefighters said they contained the flames to the single property and had them contained.

Smoke from the fire could be seen along the Front Range as it billowed into the air.
