Funeral Set For Fetus Found In Weld County Toilet

GREELEY, Colo. (AP) ― A funeral is scheduled Friday morning for a fetus discovered in a portable toilet in Carr last month.

Weld County sheriff's officials say the male fetus found in a toilet June 11 was stillborn.

A person cleaning the toilet at a sand and gravel business discovered the fetus when a vacuum system used to clean it shut down. The toilet had last been cleaned two weeks earlier.

Sheriff's officials say the fetus was believed to be 6 to 7 months along.

Authorities had been trying to locate the mother, and Sheriff John B. Cooke says the investigation continues.

The funeral will be held at Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley.
