The Eagle County Sheriff's Department is investigating allegations of a duct tape incident at a private Catholic school.
Deputies are looking into whether a Spanish teacher at Saint Clare of Assisi Elementary Catholic School in Edwards, duct-taped the mouths of three 6th graders.
Their report states the teacher had other students hold down the children while duct tape was placed on their faces. Another student apparently did the taping.
One of the students' parents, who asked to not be identified, said he is outraged because the school didn't reveal that the punishment had happened.
"That infuriated me... my daughter's been injured, they are responsible for her welfare and safety and they told her not to say anything to me," the parent told CBS4.
Authorities said formal charges could be filed sometime next week.
Phone calls to the school were not returned.
