Man, 75, Drowns At Remote Reservoir

MEETEETSE, Colo. A 75-year-old man drowned at a remote reservoir while trying to recover a small fishing boat that had drifted from shore.

The drowning happened Wednesday at Upper Sunshine Reservoir southwest of Meeteetse.

Lt. Dave Patterson with the Park County Sheriff's Office says William A. Davis, of Cody, had been fishing with another man at the reservoir. The men were trying to load the boat onto a trailer when the boat drifted away from them.

Patterson says Davis tried swimming after the boat and drowned.

Divers found Davis' body Wednesday evening about 60 yards from shore.
