Tickets for the Pepsi Center open house the Friday before the Democratic National Convention were swallowed up within 24 hours of going public.
The tickets were released Monday through the DNCC Web site.
School children will take part in a special program on the convention floor the morning of Aug. 22. Starting late that morning and going through the afternoon, citizens with the timed tickets will be allowed to go inside and see the hall before events begin the following week.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity ... to witness this moment in history," Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper said Monday.
Hickenlooper and DNCC CEO Leah Daughtry said this is the first time regular members of the public have been able to take part in a Democratic convention open house.
