FAA To Improve DIA Runway Lighting System

DENVER (CBS4) ― The Federal Aviation Administration wants to avoid disasters on airport runways. So the safety agency is making changes that include new lighting systems at 19 major airports, including Denver International Airport.

The lights change colors to signal when a runway is safe to enter or cross.

There have been 19 serious runway near misses around the country so far this year.
