Firefighters in the Denver area marked the 7th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks Thursday by climbing the stairs of the Qwest building downtown.
The firefighters climbed 110 flights of stairs to honor the lost firefighters and to send a message to the community.
The men and women climbed the building's 55 stories twice to make the equivalent journey of climbing to the top of the World Trade Center towers.
It was the fourth year firefighters from around Denver have held the memorial.
In Breckenridge, the Red, White and Blue Fire Department also held a memorial ceremony to honor those lost on Sept. 11, 2001.
Other firefighters and police officers from around Summit County attended along with 100 residents.
