Alcohol Suspected In Fatal Douglas County Crash

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) ― Colorado state troopers suspect alcohol was involved in a deadly accident in a construction zone early Saturday morning.

The crash happened on C-470 in Douglas County.

Troopers say 40-year-old Christopher Chialtas of Highlands Ranch was driving in a closed lane through a construction zone when he struck a street sweeper and hit other equipment and was killed.

A construction worker was thrown from the street sweeper. He was treated for his injuries and was released.
