Semi Hits 2 On U.S. 36, Kills 1 In Crash

One person who got out of the car died at the scene after being hit by the semi. The second person was taken to a hospital. Their condition was not known.

A deadly accident kept eastbound U.S. 36 closed between Sheridan and Federal for several hours early Thursday morning after a semi truck hit two people who had gotten out of their car after a single car spin-out, Westminster police said. The highway reopened before 6 a.m.
Officers continued to process the scene and clear debris during the early morning commute. The westbound lanes of the Boulder Turnpike were closed for a time overnight, but were reopened in time for the morning commute.
The accident happened at about 12:15 a.m. west of 80th Avenue on the highway.
One person who got out of the car died at the scene after being hit by the semi. The second person was taken to a hospital. He was listed in critical conditions.
Both victims were identified as men in their 20s.
