Doug Bruce Wants GOP To Send Him To Legislature
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) ―
The man some would say is the number one opponent of government may get a chance to get into the State Legislature.
Colorado Springs Republicans picked Rep. Bill Cadman on Saturday to replace retiring Sen. Ron May. That leaves Cadman's seat open.
El Paso County Commissioner Doug Bruce, author of an amendment that strictly controls state spending, has indicated he wants to fill Cadman's seat.
At least one other Republican will contest Bruce for the seat, Steve Hasbrouck, a member of the party's vacancy committee.
Bruce, a former Democrat, claims he has majority of support from the committee and it is a done deal.
