Colorado Gets Grant To Advance Renewable Energy

DENVER (AP) ― Colorado has won a $397,700 Department of Energy grant that the state plans to use toward adding 1,000 megawatts of renewable resource capacity onto the electricity grid.

One thousand megawatts can provide enough power to serve 330,000 homes.

Gov. Bill Ritter said Wednesday that the grant is a step toward Colorado's "New Energy Economy," an idea he has worked to promote.
