CU-Denver School Of Medicine Teacher Honored

DENVER (AP) ― An assistant professor at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine is being recognized with a national award.

The American College of Emergency Physicians has awarded the 2008 National Faculty Teaching Award to Dr. Jeffrey Druck.

He is an assistant professor of surgery in the school's emergency medicine division.

The ACEP presents the award to only seven distinguished scholars nationwide for excellence in clinical instruction, lectures, and development of innovative educational programs.

The endorsements of students, residents and faculty are also factors in the selections.

Department of Surgery chairman Dr. Frederick Grover says teaching awards are special because they reflect the best in academics and generosity toward others.
