Littleton Soccer Coach Sentenced For Sex Assault
LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A Littleton Soccer Club coach was sentenced Friday, Nov. 6, for kidnapping and sexual assault of a child. Stephen Martin Myers, 46, was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Myers coached the 13-year-old victim. He was arrested following a massive search for the girl in Littleton Oct. 24, 2008. Police said Myers called the girl's mother the night she went missing, lied to her and police officers about where he was and that he was with the girl.
Myers had sex with the girl at a hotel in Colorado Springs, and then again at a hotel in Walsenburg. He lied to police several times through the night and then stopped talking to them all together. Myers turned himself in the following day.
Myers was the goal-keepers skills coach for the girls team in the Littleton Soccer Club.
Myers pled guilty to Kidnapping, a class two felony, and Sexual Assault on a Child by a Person in a Position of Trust, a class three felony.
Myers faces intensive supervision sex offender probation for a period of 20 years to life when he is released from prison.
