Dental Office Offers Bright Smiles In One Day

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. (CBS4) ― Jean Konnecke has dozens of pictures from the trips she takes with her husband. They've gone to Hawaii and on a couple of cruises.

"I think we've just got that travel bug.that is just really so fun. And you meet so many different people," Konnecke told CBS4.

The trips are perfect except for one thing - her smile. She looked at the pictures and points out half smiles that hide some of the work she's had done on her teeth.

"I just have really bad fitting partials and a crown that I'm not exactly ecstatic with - it doesn't quite match. So when you smile you don't smile quite as perfect as you like," Konnecke explained.

Konnecke decided to end her dental drama and get a brand new set of teeth in one day at the ClearChoice Dental Implant Center in Greenwood Village.

"We see this over and over again, where we have these continuing problems of disease - trauma - repair. disease - trauma - repair and these people are on a merry-go-round that they just can't get off," said Dr. Mark Adams, Prosthodontist at ClearChoice.

The procedure starts with oral surgery first thing in the morning. Jean gets all her remaining teeth removed and the hardware for implants installed. The doctors at ClearChoice use 3-D imaging to make sure everything fits.

"We can look at the bone. We can make our measurements. We know exactly where to put the implants and how much bone is there," Adams explained.

While the surgery is going on in one room, technicians in the lab are working on Jean's teeth. Her new teeth were molded and made right on the premises so they can be fitted throughout the entire process.

"That the beauty of this center is at any point in time, the laboratory can go out and look in the clinical room and see what we need to do to make these things look as fantastic as they do," said master technician, Scott Adams.

By the end of the day, Dr. Adams is doing the final fitting for Jeans brand new teeth. He screws in the upper and lower implants and hands Jean a mirror. Her smile is transformed and she is overjoyed.

"Oh my God," she whispers as she starts to cry. "I've never had teeth that pretty."

"We find as they come back over and over again for the follow up visits - their life explodes," Adams added.
