Denver Police Prepare For Cinco de Mayo 'Cruising'

DENVER (AP) ― Denver police are preparing for the annual Cinco de Mayo celebrations that include cruising along Federal Blvd.

Police anticipate heavy traffic along Federal Blvd. both Saturday, Sunday, May 5, 9, and 10.

Additional police officers will patrol Federal Blvd. during those days.

Traffic barricades will also be used to restrict access to side streets along Federal Blvd.

Additional police officers will be patrolling the areas around Civic Center Park in downtown Denver May 9 and 10.

The annual Cinco de Mayo family festival typically attracts 400,000 people.

Last year, officers arrested nearly 200 people during Cinco de Mayo cruising along Federal Blvd.
