Livestrong pays for the University of Colorado Cancer Center research room through a grant. It also supports three others across the state.

There are 11 million cancer survivors in the U.S. right now and few services to help them navigate life after treatment. The LiveStrong Survivorship Center for Excellence was created with that goal in mind.
"Because we have so many cancer survivors today - 11 million- we really need to develop dedicated programs to provide services for cancer survivors post treatment," said Dr. Al Marcus, Program Leader for Cancer Prevention and Control at the University of Colorado Cancer Center.
The LiveStrong Survivorship Center for Excellence is exactly where cancer survivors can go for support and information. The walls are lined with book shelves and racks full of pamphlets. It's the place cancer survivor Kate Becker comes to get help navigating the overwhelming amount of cancer information out there.
"When I'm on my own, it's too much," Becker told CBS4.
"There are so many resources out there that it gets extremely confusing and overwhelming for patients and they're already going through so much," said Jeanette Gremmels, American Cancer Society staff member.
The Center is funded through the Lance Armstrong LiveStrong Foundation and has 3 other branches across the state. It's one of the few places dedicated to dealing with the growing demands of cancer survivors.
"A critical challenge to the health care system is to provide care and services to cancer survivors post treatment," Marcus added.
Becker was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. She continues to come to the Center to keep up on the latest information and research about her cancer.
"I feel much more confident," Becker told CBS4.
"It's our job to make their experience as easy as possible," Gremmels added.
