Illinois Men Plead Guilty To Illegal Elk Death
GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) ―
Two Illinois men arrested last September for allegedly killing a bull elk illegally have entered guilty pleas through their attorney.
Kimberly Anthony Shrout, 54, and his son, Anthony Lee Eugene Shrout, 20, pleaded guilty to several charges, including aggravated illegal possession of wildlife.
A Jefferson County judge ordered Kimberly Shrout to pay $12,000 in fish and game fines, while Anthony Shrout was ordered to pay $11,050.
The Shrouts, both of Lockport, Ill., were also barred from hunting in Colorado.
Two other men arrested in the same case, John Keith Johnson, 23, and Larry C. Losch, 26 of Idaho Springs, are scheduled to stand trial next month.
