Rep. Bruce Faces Sexual Harassment Allegation

DENVER (CBS4) ― State Rep. Douglas Bruce (R-Colorado Springs) is accused of sexual harassment by a worker at the Capitol.

Sources told CBS4 that there were meetings at the Capitol Wednesday about the allegation.

The legislator's attorney also talked to House Majority Leader Andrew Romanoff about it.

House Democrats and Republicans say because of House rules, they are not allowed to talk about personnel matters in public.

Legislative colleagues tell the Rocky Mountain News that Bruce has been ordered to stay away from the female staffer.

Bruce has said things in the past that have gotten him in trouble. The El Paso County Republican was ordered to leave the podium at the capitol after calling immigrant workers "illiterate peasants."

He was also censured for kicking a newspaper photographer during opening prayer at the beginning of the legislative session.
