2-Year-Old Boy Drowns In Creek In Vail

VAIL, Colo. (CBS4) ― A 2-year-old boy drowned in a creek in Vail Sunday morning.

Police say the boy was out for a walk near the Wren condos with his mother and she turned to tend to her other child. When she turned back, the boy was missing.

The mother called 911 and said she was worried the boy was in Gore Creek.

A construction worker at the Ritz Carlton site about 1 mile downstream pulled the boy's body from the creek about 10:17 a.m.

Two passing bicyclists attempted CPR.

The boy was pronounced dead at the Vail Valley Medical Center.
