Firefighters Fight Wildfire Near Gross Reservoir
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A wildfire near Gross Reservoir west of Boulder is putting up smoke that's visible in Boulder County.
The fire is between Coal Creek Canyon and Gross Reservoir and is about 5 acres in size with flames being fanned by strong winds.
Cmdr. Rick Brough with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office says the fire started around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire is on Eldorado Canyon State Park property and is 50 percent contained.
No structures are threatened and no evacuations have been ordered.
Coal Creek Fire Protection District, Boulder Rural Fire Protection District, Rocky Mountain Fire Authority, Boulder Mountain Fire, Boulder County Fire Crew, and the United States Forest Service are on scene.
