The driver of a Denver recycling truck helped rescue a man in a wheelchair after he fell into Berkeley Lake Monday afternoon.
Edward Santos was driving by and helped a firefighter and aide get the man out of the lake.
"I jumped the fence that was blocking my way, jumped in the water, helped the gentleman out and the lady," said Santos. "I was just thinking, 'We have to get him out' because to me he didn't have no movement."
The man in the wheelchair reportedly went into the water after the handle grip on the wheelchair slipped off. He was strapped in.
The firefighter was also walking by and ran to help after seeing the aide jump in after the man.
Santos, the aide and the firefighter had to work together to get the electric, heavier chair out of the water.
The man was expected to be okay after suffering minor injuries.
