Mom Convicted Of Child Abuse In Girl's Death

LITTLETON, Colo. (AP) ― A woman convicted in the death of her 3-year-old daughter last year faces 16 to 48 years behind bars at a sentencing hearing in February.

Jurors in Arapahoe County convicted Susie Quartey of child abuse resulting in death Friday.

Her daughter died after Quartey called 911 to report that the girl had stopped breathing. Police said the girl had been beaten, but Quartey told officers her daughter was injured in a fall in the yard.
