Student Injured After Falling Off SUV In Conifer

CONIFER, Colo. (AP) ― Authorities say a 17-year-old girl who was riding on the hood of a moving car at her high school was injured when she fell and was struck by a classmate's vehicle.

The name of the Conifer High School student was not released but authorities say she is in fair condition at The Children's Hospital in Aurora. The student was taken to the hospital by helicopter after the accident Wednesday afternoon at the school's parking lot in Conifer, about 35 miles southwest of Denver.

Conifer High School principal, Dr. Mike Musick, told parents in an e-mail that the injured student was "responsive prior to being" taken to the hospital.

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating.
