CENTENNIAL, Colo. (CBS4) ―
A woman involved a slavery case pleaded guilty to state charges in Arapahoe County after already pleading guilty to federal charges.
Investigators said Sarah Khonaizan and her husband, Homaidan Al-Turki, held a woman from Indonesia as a slave in their home in Aurora.
A jury convicted Al-Turki of repeatedly sexually abusing the 24-year-old woman during the 4 years she worked as the family's nanny.
He is being held in jail and will be sentenced on that conviction August 31.
On Tuesday, Khonaizan pleaded guilty to theft and was sentenced to 60 days in jail. She was immediately sent to jail although she will get credit for 15 days she has already served.
Once she serves her sentence, Khonaizan will be deported.
The judge also sentenced her to 5 years probation, 48 hours of community service and she must pay more than $90,000 in restitution.
She also pleaded guilty to federal charges of harboring an illegal immigrant. In exchange, prosecutors dropped several other charges including kidnapping.
A federal judge sentenced her to 5 years probation.
Al-Turki still faces federal charges of harboring the nanny, whose visa had expired, and underpaying her. His federal trial is scheduled for October.
