Fundraiser Set For Roxborough Fire Victims

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) ― Investigators were looking for the cause Monday of a deadly weekend fire in Roxborough Park that killed three people, including a young man mourning the death of his mother from cancer. A fundraiser is set for Tuesday at a coffee shop in the neighborhood.

Jeremy McCarroll, 20; Joey Shedron, 22; and his girlfriend Amber Jeffers, 18, died in the fire.

It was the Shedron home that caught fire early Sunday morning. There had been a gathering the night before to help Joey grieve the death of his mother earlier Saturday due to brain cancer.

A fourth victim survived the fire but remains in the hospital with burns over 70 percent of his body.

A community fundraiser is set to start at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Dazbog Coffee Shop in Roxborough Village. All the proceeds will go to the affected families.

The shop owner said Amber Jeffers' parents were among her original customers when she first opened for business.

"From day one, they were just wonderful, amazing people," she said.

Neighbors, friends and relatives kept visiting the fire scene Monday to grieve the loss in of three people in the isolated, tight-knit community.

"it's sad, it's a horrible tragedy and I'm sure it will affect the whole neighborhood that way," said Amy Sheehan, a neighbor.
