Pinon Canyon: 3 Days Of Public Hearings Planned
PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) ―
The Army has released a draft environmental impact statement on its plan to more than double the size of its Pinon Canyon training area.
The Army said it will take comments on the plan, released yesterday, for 45 days. It also plans to hold three days of public hearings.
The expansion is opposed by ranchers in who could lose their land.
The Army says it needs more room because Fort Carson is gaining 85-hundred troops under a realignment of U-S Forces.
