Pedestrian Killed On Interstate 70 East Of Denver
DEER TRAIL, Colo. (AP) ―
The State Patrol says an 89-year-old man was struck and killed by a semi while he was standing next to his pickup on the shoulder of Interstate 70 near Deer Trail.
John McNichol of Strasburg was killed Wednesday afternoon about 50 miles east of Denver.
The patrol says a semi driven by 24-year-old Jose Lona of Phoenix drifted on to the right shoulder and hit McNichol.
Lona has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving causing death. He wasn't injured.
The patrol says neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been a factor.
