More than 1,000 people gathered in downtown Denver to say goodbye to members of a prominent and popular Denver family Friday.
John Parr, his wife, Sandra, and daughter, Chase, were killed in a car accident just before Christmas. Their 18-year-old daughter Katy survived.
The memorial was delayed so Katy could recover from her injuries. Gov. Bill Ritter, Mayor John Hickenlooper and hundreds of students turned out.
"I came here expecting to be really sad after the service," friend Felecity Durcoher said. "But the entire service was so beautiful and I'm so uplifted because of the support everyone is showing and I feel happy that I got to know them."
Katy Parr will stay with friends and family until her high school graduation this spring.
