Colorado Joins National Day Of Service Events

DENVER (AP) ― Colorado's getting started a little early on a National Day of Service to mark the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Volunteers are collecting food Sunday afternoon for women's crisis center in Castle Rock. Dozens more service projects are planned Monday, when volunteers have been asked to serve to honor King and the inauguration this week of President0elect Barack Obama.

Obama arrived in Washington Saturday after a train ride across the Mid-Atlantic to Washington. His inaugural is Tuesday.
