Family Found Dead Remembered In Denver Service

DENVER (CBS4) ― A prayer service was held Monday morning to remember a Denver family found dead while vacationing in Aspen.

Parker Lofgren and his family died Thursday or Friday from a suspected case of carbon monoxide poisoning. Lofgren, 39, was a founding partner of the Denver-based St. Charles Capital, an investment bank.

His wife Caroline Lofgren, 42, and their children Owen, 10, and Sophie, 8, also died. Friends found the family dead at the house on Friday.

The prayer service was held at Saint Anne's Episcopal School in Denver where the children went to class.

Investigators are back at the home in Aspen looking for clues into what happened. They believe a problem with the home's hot water and snowmelt system sent extreme levels of the gas into the home while the family was sleeping.

Family friend Scot Wetzel said the Lofgrens and another family had bought a weekend at the property through a church auction.

Funeral Announcement

The families of Caroline Feuerbach Lofgren, Parker Lofgren, Sophie Lofgren and Owen Lofgren announce that funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 E. 7th Avenue Parkway, Denver, CO 80206.

Additionally a visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 1091 South Colorado Boulevard, Denver, CO 80246. All are welcome.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Summer Scholars Program, Girls Inc. of Denver, Owen and Sophie Lofgren Memorial Fund at St. Anne's Episcopal School or Young Americans Bank.

A spokesperson for the family has requested that anyone wishing to share Lofgren family or friendship stories send them via email to Lofgrens@uwbank.com. Additionally, if anyone has photographs of the family they wish to share, please send them to Staunton@mbhenterprisesinc.com; please mention Lofgren family in the subject line.
