Soldier From Arvada West Dies In Iraq Explosion

ARVADA, Colo. (CBS4) ― A graduate of Arvada West High School has died in Iraq.

Staff Sgt. Kenneth Mayne was 29. He died Thursday when sources say his convoy was hit by an improvised explosive device.

Mayne worked on the streets helping the people of Iraq.

He had also been part of the original invasion.

Mayne becomes the seventh member of the U.S. armed forces from Colorado to die in Iraq this year. It's the first death of a soldier from Colorado since May.
