Police ID Brighton Man Killed In Weekend Crash
BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4) ―
The person killed in a one-vehicle rollover in Weld County late Sunday was identified as a Brighton resident.
The Colorado State Patrol says Jose Ricon-Gallegos, 38, died at the scene of the crash, north of Fort Lupton.
Authorities said Ricon-Gallegos was southbound in a Lincoln Continental on U.S. Highway 85 about 10:15 p.m. Sunday, when he drifted off the left side of the road and struck a post.
The car continued into the median and hit a sign, then rolled and partially ejected Ricon-Gallegos.
The patrol says he was not wearing a seat belt.
Investigators said alcohol or drugs are suspected as possible factors in the crash.
