Inmate Dies In Douglas County Jail

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) ― The Douglas County Sheriff's Department says an inmate died in the county jail on Monday.

Deputy Cocha Heyden says Michael Higginbotham, 38, was found unresponsive in his cell. Efforts to revive him failed.

The cause of death hasn't been determined. An investigation is under way.

Heyden says Higginbotham was arrested Sept. 7 in connection with armed robberies at Walgreens Pharmacies in the Denver area.
