Make Way For The Beer Lovers In Denver

Great American Beer Festival Will Continue Through The Weekend

DENVER (CBS4) ― Beer lovers have converged in downtown Denver for the 27th annual Great American Beer Festival.

The suds crowd can sample more than 1,900 brews from around the United States at the Colorado Convention Center.

It's the chance to taste distinct recipes you won't find anywhere else.

"It's all about trying to get beers that you normally wouldn't get a chance to buy in your local liquor store or restaurant. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity every year to taste beers that aren't normally distributed out of state from small independent craft brewers," festival spokeswoman Julia Herz said.

One of the highlights of the festival is the competition awards ceremony on Saturday. Gold, silver and bronze medals will go to the best examples of each style.

The bad news (unless you made your plans early) is that tickets are sold out.
