Bertuzzi Reinstated To NHL After Suspension

NEW YORK (CBS4) ― Todd Bertuzzi was reinstated by the NHL on Monday after being suspended for the final 13 games of the 2003-2004 season.

The Vancouver Canuck was suspended after he hit Colorado Avalanche player Steve Moore during a game. Moore suffered a broken neck as a result.

Bertuzzi was also not allowed to compete in the World Cup last year and was banned from European hockey.

Because of the lockout, his suspension from NHL play was only a total of 20 games, seven from the playoffs.

As of Monday, there were no comments from the Avalanche camp on the decision.

Moore has taken his case against Bertuzzi from the ice to criminal court. It is still unclear if Moore will ever be able to play hockey again.
