Search Is On For Nacchio Jury Before March 19 Jury
DENVER (AP) ―
With the high-profile trial of former Qwest chief Joe Nacchio set for next month, the courts have already started prowling for potential jurors.
Federal court officials have mailed out 1,000 questionnaires to prospective jurors along the Front Range, central mountains and Eastern Plains.
Nacchio faces a March 19 trial on 42 charges of illegal insider trading in deals that topped $100 million.
The courts needs a dozen jurors plus six alternates for a trial that could last up to 8 weeks.
Finding those jurors won't be easy. Jurors can not have ever been stockholders or employees of Qwest or U.S. West, and they can't have any family members or friends who ever held Qwest or U.S. West stock.
