Cities Not Responsible For Most Pothole Damage
by Arturo Santiago
DENVER (CBS4) ―
Crews with the Denver Public Works department have been working to fill hundreds of potholes every day around the city. Meantime, cars are taking a beating as drivers find it difficult to avoid the large obstacles in some places.
Attorney's for the city of Denver said chances of having the city pay for the damage to a private car is extremely thin.
"Because the city right now is using all reasonable means that it has to clear the potholes in the city in the middle of numerous snowstorms," said Luis Corchado of Denver's city attorney's office.
The number to call in the city of Denver to report a pothole is 311.
If you have damage to your vehicle from a pothole, the Denver claim information number to call is (720) 913-3274.
